When a shock absorber, spring, or upper strut support needs to be replaced, or in any other case where the strut has to be disassembled and the spring removed, it is imperative to use tie rods. The spring in a shock absorber strut assembly is under so much pressure that if you try to remove it without tightening it, you could easily suffer severe health injuries. The tie rods allow you to lock the spring in the compressed position. This will help you easily remove the springs from the strut, and then put it back in place to install the support bearing. The tensioners are made of steel, painted black. The degree of clamping is adjustable with a regular horn wrench. The tie rods are universal and are 380mm long. The kit comes with 2 pieces.
